25 Ottobre 2011. Sinuwa (2340 m) – Deurali (3230 m) - 13 km. Quattordicesimo giorno. Il lodge di Sinuwa non è stato dei migliori. Il locale adibito a soggiorno è terribilmente piccolo, per cui siamo stati costretti ad attendere in piedi il nostro turno per consumare la cena. Oggi l'intera tappa si svolge su un sentiero totalmento immerso in foreste di rododendri, querce e bambù, attraversando piccoli agglomerati abitati come Bamboo, Dobhan e Himalaya, situati in modeste radure nella fitta boscaglia. Numerosi i saliscendi, a volte estremamente scivolosi per la forte umidità del luogo. Raggiungiamo Deurali, dopo la faticosa risalita di un canalone da valanga sotto le prime gocce di pioggia. Cena e pernottamento al Shangrila Guest House. Il lodge è spartano, la camera a sei posti umida e fredda. Scrivo queste note nel locale giorno attorno ad un lungo tavolone. Il gestore ha messo uno strano fornello a kerosene in una buca sotto il tavolo, per riscaldare l'ambiente. Fa freddo. La pioggia scende a scrosci rumorosa sul tetto in lamiera. Siamo tra le nuvole. Di stare fuori neppure a parlarne. Prepariamo la lista delle richieste per la cena, come di consuetudine, con un certo anticipo. A letto prestissimo. Del resto non resta nient'altro che scivolare nel saccopiuma e cercare un po' di calore tra le braccia di Morfeo. A poco a poco il calore del mio corpo mi dona una temperatura confortevole.

October 25, 2011. Sinuwa (2340 m) – Deurali (3230 m) - 13 km. Day fourteen. The lodge in Sinuwa was not of the most excellent quality. The dining room was awfully small, so we had to wait for our turn to eat, standing against the walls. Today the trail climbs up and down all the time through rhododendron, oak and bamboo forests, going past settlements such as Bamboo, Dobhan and Himalaya, all of them located on grassy areas. We reach Deurali after crossing a stream and an avalanche upwards. Raindrops start falling. Overnight stay at Shangrila Guest House. The lodge is quite simple, and the six-bedded room just humid and cold. I write these notes sitting around a big table in the dining room. There is a kerosene stove in a hole on the floor under the table which makes the temperature milder inside. It is cold. The heavy rain makes a loud noise on the corrugated sheet-iron roofed building. We make our choices from the list of the food for dinner well in advance, as usual around here. I am in bed in the early evening. There is nothing else to do apart from slipping into my sleeping bag and abandoning myself to Morpheus's arms. Very soon, little by little, my body gets warm.
