27 Ottobre 2011. Campo Base Annapurna (4130 m) – Sinuwa (2340 m) - 20 km. Sedicesimo giorno. Sto bene. Il fisico risponde in modo adeguato. Dopo tanti giorni di cammino a quote molto elevate, mi sento perfettamente allenato e procedo senza sforzo alcuno.

October 27, 2011. Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m) – Sinuwa (2340 m) - 20 km. Day sixteen. A hard night because of the extreme cold. Just before the day begins, when it is time to get up, I can see the window panes of my bedroom covered with a thick layer of ice, which gives me the shivers. I go out, like everybody here, before six, just in time to wait for the sun to shine on the Annapurna massif. All of us are lined on the moraine and ready to take photographs of the immense south wall as it lights up with the first morning rays. Only now do I realize that making such a long journey was really worth it! It is eight o'clock when we leave the camp and start the 2000 meters long descent which will lead us back to Sinuwa. My spirit and heart fly high like a hawk while I go through bamboo, rhododendron and oak forests again. I feel fine. My body reacts promptly and with no effort after so many days' walk at high altitudes. At Sinuwa Lodge & Restaurant I have a nice hot shower and then quench my long thirst with a Tuborg while sitting and writing these notes.
